High Plains Mental Health Center currently has a Recovery Worker-PRN position available at our Westside Alternative School location in Hays. The Recovery Worker provides Attendant Care, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, and other rehabilitation services as assigned to adults with severe and persistent mental illness or children and/or adolescents who have severe emotional disturbances or other assigned patients requiring services of the Recovery Worker. These services are intensive consumer-centered, goal-directed services provided on a face-to-face basis in community settings. They also provide transportation services as assigned.
Qualifications include: (1) Be 18 years of age or older and if providing services to a consumer who is under the age of 18, must be at least three years older than the consumer; (2) Possess demonstrated interpersonal skills, ability to work with persons with severe and persistent mental illness and/or severe emotional disturbance, and the ability to react effectively in a wide variety of human service situations; (3) Have certification of completion of state approved standardized basic training program according to curriculum approved by the Division of Health Care Policy; and (4) Have access to reliable transportation.
Applicant should possess a valid Kansas driver’s license and a good driving record with no alcohol-related incidents within the last five years. Must also be able to successfully pass an intensive background check including KBI, DCF Child/Adult abuse check and a drug and alcohol screen.
